In another timeline Odysseus returns to a long gone home. Everything he owns everything he loves is dead. He doesn’t know it , he is hoping for reunion. His arrival is seen by his blind servant as a Painting of His ship, the blue sky and sea. All framed by the ruins of his home.  His wrath will be the epilogue.

Relics of a long lost era.The spirit keeps its back to the outside world and insists on living in the past. He keeps his eyes nailed on the worn graffiti on the wall. The lost love that dies slowly with him. Trapped in time and space. In Love…

Here are some photos from last month of Drapetsona Harbor taken from High ground using the Nikon 55-200mm VR telephoto. I wanted to achieve a different prespective by using the lens at its largest focal length.

When I visited Megara the first thing that I wanted to visit and capture was the old Train Station and the Old Steam Locomotive.

Megara Old Train Station

A few words about the history of the railway in Megara. The old train station was established 1885 and was attributed to Charilaos Trikoupis. It was planned from A.Koumoundouros in 1881 who signed the agreement but was left aside due to Parliamentary disputes. Later on the “Railway company Athens Piraeus and Pelloponisou” takes on the project, starts of at Piraeus at the 21st of May 1884.The raisin producers where against the project and didn’t agree to land expropriation  and the usage of water which was scarce in Megara. The first problem which had to do with money was eventually solved the second was a harder matter to be solved. Even King George the First, came to stop a riot of the citizens of Megara who had broken the water pipes who provided water to the trains. The pressure of the citizens to the mayor led to an unthinkable denial to the King itself for water supplying. At last the solution came with the company bringing water from another district.

Megara Old Train Station

Today after more than 130 years the Old train Station with the one steam engine and a few wagons stays forgotten and slowly fading away. Unfortunately it hasn’t found any use for the public as a recreational or educational center.

Street Graffiti, International street art festival Meeting my cam….

Remember that Yashica Electro 35 GSN I recently found in a flea market?
Well I just had to test it. I had shot a few photos within the week , the Lucky SHD100 36 exposures was midway, SOLUTION?
Cut the exposed frames and dump them in Rodinal 1:100. And 60minutes later.

Success IMHO. I like to use LR5 and i wanted to give a dreamy look to them.

But then someting hit me. I did a google search for graffiti at Drapetsona area and i found a nice Article about their story. They are a part of an international graffiti festival that took place June 2014.
I find the article interesting and the photos of the graffities gradual completion nice. Also see them in the article in the colourful edition and then compare them with my proccessing.
